Prefer playing to Raft if you are searching for a fun raft coop adventure game, it's not perfect but at least it's playable. I guess that now we have spent some time playing, giving every excuses to the game we cannot get a refund because we tried more than 2 hours. So we decided to simply stop playing, not even because of frustration, but because we cannot play more than a few minutes before encountering a game breaking bug stopping us from playing and requiring a whole game relaunch and rejoin, taking several minutes. I'm sure I have forgotten quite a lot of bugs and problems we had but these are some of the kind you will encounter playing. growing the raft base is almost impossible without a mate orienting the existing base upward to avoid clipping in the ground (I bet this must be really funny on single player games) putting objects in the raft completely breaks all physics, making floating ressource gathering a real nightmare when you try to recover a floating tire in the middle of the sea for example randomly stuck save because "someone was driving a vehicule" whereas the 2 players present in the game were in front of the shelter. crafting using close items on the ground work absolutely randomly, sometines detecting everything, sometime not detecting the cloth item you are basically standing on setting to set watch alarm (bipping non-stop with no control over it) sound level called "UI sound"? did anyone try to name things properly?! no setting to change language in game, randomly switched from french to english french translation is a joke, inverted words, barely enough to understand items when dead, character 3d models lose their hands and feet or get weirdly distorted, what is that?! ressources are sparse, as you would expect for a survival, but you cannot move/dismantle/unbuild some things like raft base, etc, it is often a real problem when for example a raft rudder is only in one direction but your sails are already built in another direction on the raft. loading times when creating the game are reallyyyyy long (>5min, both computers are under 2 years old, 16gb ram or more, 4 cores or more, and both over fiber connections) impossible to open inventory, cannot be fixed with containers or raft, forced to relaunch game impossible to reconnect to mate game (really often wished for, as a last hope to fix various bugs) attacked by shark, got bump in the air flying over 5-6 islands, my brother spent half and hour searching my body floating in the middle of nowhere, forced to relaunch game collision bug dragging a barrel, ended up flying away with my dead body stuck on the invisible sky roof, forced to relaunch game Some of the problems encountered in about 7h of coop gameplay: It is purely a scam to call this kind of product a "release" level game. It's the first time I've been as disapointed with a video game. I bought this game with my brother, expecting to experience a fun survival adventure in cooperation. Thanks so much again to everyone who has been a part of the journey. You’ve enabled us to secure our future as a studio and we’re looking forward to taking everything we’ve learned from this experience and using it to grow bigger and better. All of you have helped grow Stranded Deep into something bigger than the two of us ever could have expected. And of course, our publishing brothers at North Beach Games who have been with us since 2015 and supported us every step of the way. Everyone at Steam, Epic, Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo has been great to work with and they’ve given us opportunities that we never would have dreamed of. It’s also been a great experience working with the big first parties and the people behind them. We’ve made friends with the teams at Funlabs and Abstraction who worked hard to bring the game to consoles. We’ve met some amazing people along the way. I remember the Steam Greenlight concept with the little raft on the ocean… we never could have guessed the community would get behind it the way they did. We had no previous industry experience, we were just two kids with a cool idea who wanted to make their first game. Ben and I originally started this project out of our back rooms. The game and community has grown far beyond anything we ever could have expected. We’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported us. We have some remaining multiplayer issues to fix and we have a dedicated team working on fixing these. We’ve achieved our high-level goals and are now focusing on stability and quality-of-life fixes. The release of 1.0 represents that Stranded Deep is feature complete. Today marks the 1.0 release of Stranded Deep!
